What makes this program special?
What sets this program apart is its blend of theoretical insights and practical, hands-on knowledge about the sports business. It’s not just about learning, but also about connecting with like-minded students, who share your passion for basketball. Further, the program opens doors to a network of professionals within the basketball world.
Why did you choose this program?
When I began working on more sports-related projects at Boston Consulting Group, I realized I wanted to make a permanent move into the sports business world—a field that has always been my passion. I knew having a qualification that aligned with this career shift would be great to have, and during the middle of the pandemic, I came across the program offered by EBI. As a big basketball and Euroleague fan, the decision felt like a natural fit!
Which 3 words would describe your experience with the master’s program best?
Eye-opening, challenging, and rewarding.
Would you recommend this master’s program and why?
I would recommend this program as it’s designed to allow you to work full-time while pursuing your MBA, which, while demanding and requiring strong time management skills, is rewarding at the same time. The knowledge, network, and opportunities you gain make it a worthwhile investment in your career and personal growth.
Tell us about your Best Memory in the program?
One of my best memories from the program was the week we spent in Kaunas in January 2022. Due to some COVID-related adjustments, two EBI classes were brought together, which made the experience even more enriching as we could get to know more EBI students. The week included insightful sessions at Vytautas Magnus University and Zalgirio Arena, complemented by enjoyable evening activities. It was a perfect combination of learning, networking, and creating lasting memories.
How has this program influenced your career path or professional goals?
The program played a key role in helping me make a permanent move into the sports sector. I’m still working in the industry and plan to continue doing so in the future.
Did the program open any networking opportunities that have benefited your career?
Yes, it definitely has. I’m still in touch with many people I met during the MBA program, and we occasionally connect, which continues to benefit my career.
Tell us about the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four?
Our group had the opportunity to attend the 2022 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four in Belgrade. From a sporting perspective, it was a really cool experience—Micic’s buzzer-beater against Olympiacos in the semifinal and Efes securing a back-to-back title made it a thrilling event. Beyond the games, the program offered interesting panels organized by Euroleague, providing us with behind-the-scenes insights into managing such a major event. It was also a great chance to connect with alumni from other EBI classes and engage with some of Europe’s most prominent basketball journalists—all while enjoying the vibrant Belgrade nightlife!
Tell us about the job you were in before studying the master’s program, and the job you have now after you finished the course?
Before enrolling in the program, I was working at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where I had the chance to dedicate part of my time to sports-related cases. During the MBA course, I successfully transitioned into a new role, joining the CEO Office of the German football Bundesliga. Now, in my current role as Lead Business Strategist at PACE, I help ensure our clients stay ahead of the curve—for instance, by contributing to the success of events like the FIFA Club World Cup or the UEFA Women’s Euro.
